Art of Rogue One Book Reveals Scrapped Ideas

While Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is bringing in huge box office returns both domestically and in foreign markets (my review will be following shortly), there’s quite a bit that didn’t make it into the final film.  A new book “The Art of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” by Josh Kushins highlights the art of the film and showcases concept art for many sequences that got scrapped along the way.  

First Clip of Emma Watson Singing for Beauty and the Beast

Disney’s live action adaptation of Beauty and the Beast is one of the most anticipated films next year.  Below check out the first sound clip of Emma Watson singing “Something There.”  Full disclosure, is from a Hasbro doll inspired by the film, but producer Jack Morrissey has confirmed on his Instagram account that it is in fact Watson singing.  Check out his post and the clip of his singing the classic Disney tune below.  Beauty and the Beast arrives in theaters March 17, 2017.

Ryan Gosling will team up with La La Land director Damien Chazelle for a Neil Armstrong biopic.

Carrie Fisher Star Wars Audition Tape

December 27 we lost Carrie Fisher, an actress, writer, and mental health advocate best known for her portrayal of Princess Leia Organa, following a heart attack while on board a returning flight from London.  There’s no denying that the role of Leia is iconic and paved the way for strong, witty independent women on the big screen.  Check out Carrie Fisher’s audition video that helped her earn the legendary role even though she was reportedly up against actresses like Jodie Foster and Cindy Williams.  Fisher can still be seen in Star Wars Episode VIII that opens next December.

Check out the trailer from the revival of The Twilight Zone, hosted and narrated by Jordan Peele (Us, Get Out).  The show will premiere with two episodes April 1 on CBS All Access and then Thursday nights beginning April 11.
