Sony Announces Release Schedule that Includes Bad Boys 2 and 3, Magnificent Seven, Jumanji, Dark Tower and More

Despite the infamous Sony hacks a year ago that appeared to leave the studio is disarray, they have just released an impressive lineup of potential tentpole franchises for the next few years.  In addition to Ghostbusters, which has moved its release date to July 15, 2016, here are the rest of the films that have received new or modified release dates per Sony’s announcement.  The list and descriptions comes courtesy of Screen Rant:

Colin Trevorrow Talks Jurassic World 2 and A Look at What Almost Was Jurassic World

Jurassic World is the third highest grossing movie of all time and with any massively successful movie comes talk of a sequel.  Shortly after the film’s release we heard word that Jurassic World 2 was happening and that Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard would return for the sequel.  The other day Colin Trevorrow spoke about some of his thoughts about what direction the next film could go in (via Coming Soon).

Dungeons & Dragons Film In the Works

Following a long trial to determine who owned the film rights to the popular game, Variety is reporting that Warner Bros. is moving forward with an adaptation of Dungeons & Dragons.  The franchise remains the most well known and best-selling  role-playing game with and estimated 20 million people having played and having accumulated over $1 billion in book and equipment sales.  Now after a 2 year-old lawsuit and much negotiation, Warner Bros., Hasbro’s Allspark and Sweetpea Entertainment have come to an arrangement.

Check out the trailer from the revival of The Twilight Zone, hosted and narrated by Jordan Peele (Us, Get Out).  The show will premiere with two episodes April 1 on CBS All Access and then Thursday nights beginning April 11.
