D23 Disney Expo- Costume Photos of Star Wars and Alice Through the Looking Glass and Quick Glimpses of Avatar Land and Pixar Posters

This weekend is the D23 Disney Expo, which promises to offer lots of info on upcoming film features such as Star Wars, Marvel, Pixar and Disney projects.  Tonight will showcase animation films (and there are posters on the floor for Toy Story 4, The Incredibles 2, Cars 3 and more) and tomorrow they will discuss live action films.  So until they have actual presentations all we have to whet our appetite is the exhibits on the showroom floors.  Here’s some photos (courtesy of \Film) of the Star Wars exhibit, Avatar land, and posters for Alice Through the Looking Glass and Pixar movies. First Image of Luke Skywalker in Star Wars: The Force Awakens

To this point we have not seen anything of Mark Hamill’s Luke Skywalker for Star Wars Episode VIII: The Force Awakens or heard how he’ll fit into the story.  He narrated the first trailer for the movie (found here), but that’s about it.  Well now, courtesy of Heroic Hollywood, we have the first image of Luke in the next movie.  Check it out. Details for Marvel/Netflix’s Jessica Jones Series

For those of you who have not seen the Daredevil Netflix series, I highly recommend it.  Marvel and Netflix have managed to create a gritty take on the Daredevil character that still exists within the greater Marvel Universe (i.e. the movies and Agents of S.H.I.L.D.).  It has been long reported that Netflix will be developing four individual series (Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist) before ultimately having a limited run team up Defender series.  You can read more about the overall plans for the Netflix shows here and here, and specifically about some of the challenges facing Iron Fist here.  Daredevil succeeded because it was refreshingly different from the other superhero shows and movies out there (and due to the great character work and acting).  Will the next series, Jessica Jones due out this fall, be more of the same or will it have elements to help set the show apart?
